Narrating From A Different Perspective!

Today for writing we narrated from different perspectives. We watched a music video, Happier - Marshmello & Bastille and on our blogs we had to write their story from one of the two main characters perspectives. For this activity I chose to write from the girls perspective. 

Here Is My Writing

I was sitting at the table at my birthday watching the cake come to the table. Although I was surrounded by my friends and family I still felt as lonely as ever. A million thoughts were going through my head on what I would wish when blowing out my candles when another girl blew them out instead. I was feeling overwhelmed but I could finally open my presents. I got an adorable yellow bow however it seemed it wasn't mine. My dad came in carrying an adorable puppy and I felt an instant connection. My new dog became my best friend and he grew up alongside me. We measured our heights throughout or lives along the door frame. I didn't have many friends and school and I got bullied for my braces among others. Although school was hard I always enjoyed coming home to play with my dog. When we grew older the dog fell ill and didn't have as much energy as usual. It was heartbreaking to see him like this. One day the vet said he wasn't going to get better which broke my heart. Although I loved him very much I knew he was in pain and I would feel horrible keeping him going through it. Tears were dripping down my face upon saying goodbye to my best friend, He helped me through so much. My dad carried him out of the room alongside two vets. I was so sad but I knew he was in pain and I wanted him to be happy because he made me happy during his lifetime.

I enjoyed doing this writing as I thought it was interesting seeing situations through different perspectives. I hope we can continue to learn about writing from different perspectives because it is a good skill.
