What A Hoot?

On the 28th of July my Mum and I did a baking class at the Make Cafe/Create. We made an owl cake each. The cakes were pre made chocolate mud cakes by the teacher Adrianne.
We used chocolate fondant in brown and  black and marshmallow fondant in white and orange. We attatched the cakes to the board and secured them together. We applied a light coat of chocolate buttercream with an offset spatula. We used cookie cutter to cut out circles, triangles and tube shapes in the fondant. We covered the front area with buttercream and stuck the features on. We piped feathers with piping bags to complete the cake. It was a fun experience and I would love to do it again. I am very thankful and lucky that I got to make it and I am very appreciative that I could. Thankyou mum for doing this with me
