This week for reading my group was reading an article called Return Of The Moa. The Moa was a native New Zealand that sadly went extinct around 1300 A.D but there were believed to be sightings in the 18th and 19th centuries. The article was interesting and explained about the Moa and with some scientific help the Moa may be able to return to New Zealand. We had to create a glossary of unknown words from the article and write a paragraph on whether we think it is a good idea to bring back the Moa or not.
Here Is My Response
I think it would be a bad idea to bring back the Moa, Although it would be a huge scientific breakthrough and one of the most memorable moments in New Zealand history there is no confirmation it would work. Even though it would be amazing there are to many risks that would be taken without it being reliable that it would work. So many embryos and chicks would be harmed in order to create something that there is no guarantee would work. The moa is a fascinating bird and it would be amazing for it to be back there is to much of a risk.
