Kapa Haka

On Thursday the 16th of June the South Hornby School Kapa Haka went by bus to Broadfield                                        School to perform for their Matariki celebration.
We performed in our Kapa Haka uniforms.
Kyra and Matthew M are the Kapa Haka leaders so they had the honour of wearing traditional                                                                   maori cloaks .
We sing Purerehua, The Haka, Nga iwi e and Ete atua.
After the performance we got changed out of our uniforms because they have been blessed so                                                            we can't eat in them.
The Broadfield staff provided the students with the choices of hangi, sausages or just their own                                                            pre packed lunch.
The hangi was cooked in the back of the school field.
The hangi was delicious and so were the sausages.
We got a chance to play with the friendly children from Broadfield.
After that we boarded on to the bus and drove back to school where we spent the rest of the                                                                  afternoon in class
