Getting notifications ( photo likes, comments etc) release small levels of dopamine providing small bursts of happiness. Facebook, messenger, Skype, social media etc are easy accessible ways of worldwide communication commonly used to keep in touch with family and friends. Although phones have some good aspects they also have some bad ones. The increase in technology has made a rapid decrease in physical activity and hands on activities. Social media can be really negative with things such as cyber bullying, unrealistic standards. The light from the phone is also bright white light which can irritate and strain the eyes causing issues. These are all negative impacts which can feed into the addiction. Altogether I agree that technology can have good and bad impacts and has affected our society in many ways, but like most things should be used in moderation.
