In social studies at the moment we are learning about human rights, This week we have been learning about slavery. Today we listened and discussed about several spiritual slave songs, slaves sung these songs while working for many reasons. Including to keep them energised and working. They also used the lyrics to share notes and thoughts as well as codes and secret messages such as sharing when it was safe to leave and finish.
